The Royal Virgin Islands Police Force (RVIPF) is appealing for the public’s assistance as it investigates the fatal shooting of local restaurant owner Kai de Castro in Brewers Bay.
While police did not identify the victim, BVI Platinum News previously reported that de Castro was gunned down on Tuesday, July 28.
According to the RVIPF, officers responded to reports of gunfire and discovered a man with apparent gunshot injuries. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
Detectives are pursuing all available leads to determine the circumstances surrounding the killing.
Anyone who witnessed the incident or has information that could assist the investigation is asked to contact the RVIPF Intelligence Unit at 368-9512.
Information may also be provided anonymously through Crime Stoppers by calling 800-8477 (TIPS) locally or (284) 800-8477 from overseas.
This is the second recorded murder for the year.
