The British Virgin Islands Olympic Committee (BVIOC), in collaboration with H. Lavity Stoutt Community College (HLSCC), has launched History of OECS Athletics, a landmark publication by veteran sports administrator and historian Rey O’Neal OBE.
The book chronicles the history, statistics and achievements of OECS track and field and reflects O’Neal’s decades of service as a teacher, coach, administrator and sports historian.
It was launched at HLSCC on July 23 and donated to National Olympic Committees throughout the Eastern Caribbean. Copies were also presented to OECS Olympic Committee representatives during the opening ceremony of the ANOCES Track and Field Championships in St. Kitts and Nevis.
The BVIOC said the publication will serve as an important resource for students, researchers and future generations.
The committee thanked Olympic Solidarity, HLSCC, the editorial team and contributors for helping to bring the publication to fruition.
