Sean Stacey claimed a race victory and finished third overall in the Green Fleet as four young BVI sailors competed at the 2026 Fall Regatta hosted by the St Thomas Yacht Club.
The team travelled to St Thomas on Friday, October 9, with Stacey and Jervis Tucker-Davis competing in the beginner Green Fleet, while Bobby Hensley and Piper Bailey raced in the Championship Fleet.
For Stacey and Tucker-Davis, the event marked their first regatta outside the BVI. Both delivered encouraging performances, with Stacey securing a first-place finish in one race and Tucker-Davis placing fifth overall, including a best race finish of third.
Racing began on Saturday morning in favourable conditions, with winds in the low teens. Shifting breezes tested the sailors’ tactical decisions throughout the weekend, while passing squalls added to the challenges on the water.
Hensley made his Championship Fleet debut, finishing sixth overall. He recorded three fourth-place finishes as he adjusted to the demands of the more competitive fleet.
Bailey finished seventh overall, with a best race result of fifth. She showed improvement in her boat speed and starting positions over the two days of racing.
The team thanked the St Thomas Yacht Club for hosting the event, the parents who accompanied the sailors, and Horizon Yacht Charters for providing the team’s support vessel.
