Nine athletes will represent the British Virgin Islands at the NACAC Under-18 and Under-23 Championships in Tlaxcala, Mexico, from July 10 to 12.

According to the BVI Athletics Association (BVIAA), the team will compete at the Una Nueva Historia Sports Complex Stadium in Apizaco as part of a 12-member delegation that also includes coaches and support staff.

BVIAA President Steve Augustine said he is confident the athletes will perform well against the region's best.

“I’m expecting big results in Mexico because this group of athletes are known to deliver well under pressure,” Augustine said.

The team comprises Jah'kyla Morton (high jump), M'Kenzii Crabbe (100m and 200m), T'Keiya Smith (high jump), Andre Smikle (hammer and discus), Jahshani Farrington (800m), Mario Carter (200m), Othniel Gillings (high jump), Tiondre Frett (100m and 200m), and Tyrique Charles (100m and 200m).

The delegation also includes coach Jennifer King-Grate, team manager Stephanie Russ Penn and physiotherapist Courtny Bascombe.
