Two young swimmers will represent the British Virgin Islands at the 5th PanAm Aquatics Swimming Championships in Colombia next week.
According to the BVI Olympic Committee (BVIOC), Kyla Potter and Lily Carey will compete in the Girls 13 to 15 age group at the championships, which will be held in Ibagué from July 8 to 12.
The pair will be accompanied by Coach Rebecca Nockolds and are scheduled to depart the Territory on Sunday, July 5. They will spend two days training at the competition venue before racing begins on July 8.
According to the BVIOC, the championships will bring together athletes from across the Americas to compete for continental titles while also providing opportunities for swimmers, coaches and officials to develop their skills and strengthen regional connections.
