People’s Leadership Movement (PLM) leader Mark Vanterpool has pledged that multi-level parking will become a reality in Road Town under a PLM government.
Speaking on the People’s Mic Podcast on Sunday evening, the former Communications and Works Minister and Fourth District Representative said the capital needed to move towards parking facilities that also accommodate businesses.
“The suggestions and the proposal that we had made on multi-level parking in the city of Road Town, there’s no way you’re going to get away from it,” Vanterpool said.
“We need to move in that direction and hopefully we can create some multi-level parking that are aesthetically beautiful, functional with a mix of parking and businesses, and hopefully that can happen soon. And it will happen under a PLM government.”
Vanterpool also pointed to parking improvements undertaken during his tenure, including the parking lot by Bobby’s and those near the hospital.
“The whole parking lot by Bobby’s, we built that; the parking lots down by the hospital, we built that. We did a lot of other smaller parking lots in different areas,” he stated.
During the 2019 election campaign, the Virgin Islands Party (VIP) also proposed high-rise parking facilities in Road Town, saying a VIP government would seek proposals from the public for their construction.

Yeah, this multi-level parking facility would complement the Road Town Charrette nicely. Anybody remembers the "Charrette"
