Hundreds of local, regional and international participants recently gathered at Long Bay Beach Resort for a two-day creative retreat marking Kickin It’s 10th anniversary.
According to a press release from Kickin It, the event combined business and creative development sessions with wellness activities, while introducing a new fund to support Virgin Islands talent.
Participants included Barbados’ DJ Puffy, Jamaican content creator Rushane “RushCam” Campbell, CultureCon founder Imani Ellis, creative philosopher DonYé Taylor, filmmakers Nyaila Callwood and Khalarni Rivers, and musician Marvelus “Swanks” Williams.

Saturday’s Creative Summit featured masterclasses and discussions on wellness, culture, technology and growing businesses without burnout. Sunday offered cultural crafts, movement classes, guided journalling and sports.
“Ten years ago, Kickin It started with a simple vision to showcase Virgin Islands pride and create space for local creators,” founder Kyra James said.
The organisation also launched The Flow State Fund, which will provide micro-grants to help Virgin Islands creatives develop their projects. Recipients are expected to be announced in the coming week.
