Grenada CC handed previously unbeaten Vikings CC their first defeat of the 2026 BVICA T20 Cup on Sunday May 10 in a breathtaking semi-final clash at Greenland, setting up a championship showdown with Royal Knights.

In what will go down as one of the most explosive matches of the tournament, Grenada CC piled up a staggering 332 for 2 from their 20 overs after Vikings won the toss and elected to field.

Derrol Redhead delivered an innings of pure destruction, hammering an unbeaten 157 from just 45 balls at a phenomenal strike rate of 348.89.

His remarkable knock included 19 towering sixes and eight fours as the Vikings bowlers were left helpless under relentless pressure.

Rodney Marryshow added further punishment with an unbeaten 89 from 44 balls, while Andel Walcott chipped in with 45 to ensure Grenada CC posted one of the highest totals seen in the competition.

Vikings CC responded with equal aggression and almost pulled off what would have been a miraculous chase. Julian Bannet produced one of the innings of the tournament with a sensational 171 from only 55 deliveries, smashing 21 sixes and eight boundaries in a fearless counterattack that kept the contest alive deep into the innings.

Anil Mahabir contributed 43, while Jieunick Mingo added a quick-fire 23, but despite their fearless batting effort, Vikings eventually closed on 311 for 9, falling just 21 runs short in a contest that produced an astonishing 643 runs in 40 overs.

Bannet was named Man of the Match for his extraordinary innings despite ending on the losing side.

Earlier in the day, Royal Knights secured the other spot in the final after defeating Cavaliers CC by 33 runs in another high-scoring semi-final encounter. Royal Knights blasted 259 for 6 from their 20 overs with Kazim Haywood smashing 74 from 35 balls and Shelan Isidore cracking a brutal 92 from only 34 deliveries which included 11 sixes.

Cavaliers fought hard in reply through Aaron Baker’s 47, Dhanpaul Chrisnanand’s 54 and Ricky Singh’s 37, but they ultimately finished on 226 for 8.

Haywood capped a fine all-round performance with two wickets and was named Man of the Match.

The results now set the stage for what promises to be an explosive BVICA T20 Cup Final at Greenland on Sunday May 17 between two of the tournament’s most dangerous batting teams in Grenada CC and Royal Knights.

Vikings CC and Cavaliers CC will play for third place.
