Plans for the BVI’s first purpose-built Immigration Detention Centre have moved a step closer following a bidders’ conference hosted by the Recovery and Development Agency (RDA).
According to the RDA, the conference brought together shortlisted construction firms as the competitive procurement process advances.
The RDA’s technical team and design consultant Trojan Designs outlined the project’s construction scope, technical requirements and procurement expectations.
The centre will be built to international standards, providing a secure, fit-for-purpose facility to support the Territory’s immigration processes.
Shortlisted firms have until 5 October 2026 to submit their bids.
