An $800,000 development provision will support improvements in Road Town, including pedestrian access, roundabouts and Main Street sidewalks, Premier and Minister of Finance Dr. Natalio Wheatley announced during his 2027 Budget Address earlier this week.
The allocation is for the Road Town Partnership and will also advance the capital’s Master Plan.
“The Road Town Master Plan, pedestrian walkway, Road Town roundabouts, and Main Street sidewalks will advance with the $800,000 development provision for the Road Town Partnership,” Wheatley stated.
His announcement identified several areas of work but did not specify how the money would be divided among them or provide individual completion dates.
Meanwhile, Wheatley outlined plans for road and maritime infrastructure in East End, Salt Island and West End.
“The East End Harbour bypass road will commence shortly and be completed in 2027. The Salt Island jetty will be rebuilt, and West End Ferry Terminal will progress under revised funding through the BVI Ports Authority,” he said.
