Rymer Urges Road Safety Following Tragic Accident

(PLTM) - GIS - Minister for Works Honourable Kye M. Rymer has expressed condolences to the family and friends of the Jamaican national who tragically lost his life in a motor vehicle accident at Major Bay.

Honourable Rymer stated, "This heartbreaking incident happened on Thursday November 21, and our thoughts are with those injured and currently receiving treatment at Dr. Orlando Smith Hospital."

Honourable Rymer who also holds the portfolio for roads, emphasised the importance of safe driving practices and is urging motorists to exercise extreme caution on the Territory’s roads. He also called on the public to prioritise road safety to prevent such devastating incidents in the future.

"It is crucial to adhere to speed limits and remain vigilant, especially in challenging conditions,” Honourable Rymer said, adding, “Let us all commit to driving responsibly and looking out for one another during these difficult times. Safe driving saves lives."

The Ministry of Communications and Works remains dedicated to ensuring the continued development and maintenance of public infrastructure in keeping with international standards so that public utilities are reliable and affordable in support of an enhanced community life for every resident and visitor in the Virgin Islands.
