Officers of the Criminal Investigations Department have made significant progress in the investigation of the shooting incident that occurred at Ups Cineplex shortly after 10 pm on Saturday, July 6.
Denston Johnney, 30, of Huntum’s Ghut, has been formally charged with Attempted Murder, Possession of a Firearm with Intent to Commit an Indictable Offence, and Unlawful Possession of Explosive.
He remains in custody pending his appearance at the Magistrate's Court.
Previous Release: Sunday, July 7 — Officers of the Royal Virgin Islands Police Force responded to reports of a shooting at Ups Cineplex shortly after 10 PM on Saturday, July 6. A female victim sustained injuries and was transported to Dr. Orlando Smith's Hospital, where she is currently receiving treatment.
Police have arrested the individual who is believed to have done the shooting. He remains in custody as the investigation continues.
