(PLTM) - GIS - The staff at the Civil Registry and Passport Office has completed a one-day comprehensive, all-day leadership training.

The training, which took place at the Lambert Beach Resort, was designed to bolster capacity and cultivate leadership skills as the office reinforces its commitment to continuous improvement and development.

Registrar General, Mrs. Tashi O'Flaherty-Maduro, said the focus was not only to elevate the team's effectiveness but also to enhance the overall wellness of each individual and subsequently, the organisation as a whole.

Mrs. O'Flaherty-Maduro said, “As the department emerges from the immersive leadership training experience, there is a palpable sense of enthusiasm and determination among team members. Armed with new insights, strategies, and tools, they are ready to apply their enhanced leadership skills to drive positive change and propel the department forward.”

Mr. Albert Wheatley of Team Solutions BVI facilitated the training. The session delved into various aspects of effective leadership focusing on essential skills such as people skills, taking initiative, meeting and exceeding customers' needs and expectations and general leadership skills.

Team members were empowered to hone their leadership abilities and unlock their full potential through interactive discussions, and practical exercises. The training also sought to foster a culture of well-being within the department, recognising the importance of mental and emotional wellness in driving productivity and satisfaction.

The all-day leadership training represented the Civil Registry & Passport Office’s significant investment in the growth and development of the entire team. The training also sets the stage for continued success and excellence in service delivery by focusing on capacity building, well-being, and customer experience enhancement.

The Civil Registry and Passport Office is committed to supporting the broader government objective to increase capacity within the Public Service, enhance efficiency and deliver strong governance by improving leadership skills.
