Mitch Says Second District Being Punished

(PLTM) - The Second District Representative believes that because of his vocal stance on matters in the Territory, his district has been deprived of developments.

Hon. Melvin 'Mitch' Turnbull said he has been beckoning on behalf of the people in the second district, "and I believe that to a large scale you see that there has been this continued neglect."

The Progressive Virgin Islands Movement (PVIM) candidate said: "If you want to punish me that’s fine, if you want to go against the things that I have been standing for even when I challenge the government...if you want to go against me and punish me that’s fine but what is important to me is don’t punish the people of the second district."

Turnbull, who has been district representative since 2015 said there are a number of things he would like see get done including, fixing the community centre for Brewers Bay; Brewers Bay park; completing the Brewers Bay bathroom, "because the second district is a tourism hub."

"So even the medical facilities on Jost Van Dyke we are building school, the clinic on Jost Van Dyke needs immediate attention, we need to have a doctor there on Jost Van Dyke 24/7 for the people there in that community …education, giving young people a platform," he said. He said with PVIM in office these among other developments will be addressed.

"Those are some of the things I want to address immediately but I cannot address it alone. So that is why I am standing with a team of persons who would stand and understand that leadership and integrity matter," Turnbull said.

Power hungry Mitch at it again

Mitch you are too dishonest and a power hungry hypocrite. When it convenient you say all that has been done in the district with your advocacy. Then when it suits you to play victim, you say the Second District has been punished. Bottom line is you say anything for power.

If the 2nd District has been treated unfairly, why did they approve an additional 101,000 for bathroom that is already built

Missing the point again? the government is a process. If mitch was in control of the process to get that bathroom project done. We for sure would have had more meaningful development on that beach. Imo

If Mitch knew he didn't need the money or if something was wrong with it, then why he asked for it and accepted it then went on record to justify his actions. The guy is a disgrace now. He needs help.

Mitch is a..... He asked for the money. Check his press release statement defending the money and the quarter of a million dollar bathroom. He is a hypocrite and knows not the truth even if it hits him in his face.

Mitch knows his back yard is not as clean as he's trying to make us believe so he needs to be extra careful.

One minute Mitch bragging about all he got done which was all under the same VIP Government he is blasting. Then another time he is saying his district and him is being punished. This guy thinks people are fools. It is just about power.

His district was treated fairly especially seeing the major challenges with covid over the last three years that he and others failed to mention in their campaign speeches hoping the people have forgotten as they try to make it sound as if it was normal times.

Mitch is challenged with the truth.

People go online for yourself as see what all got done in the second district and you will see that this guy is nothing but a confusion maker and challenged with the truth. I will name a few that I found online.
- Basketball court in Diamond was fixed & he put his logo in the middle of the court on government property which is illegal.
- Ivan Dawson Primary School facility was repaired
- Sewage project in Cane Garden Bay was started and well on its way.
- Community Center in Brewer's Bay was repaired
- Dog hole road JVD was graded and surfaced.
- Administration building on JVD was repaired and named after a stalworth JVD resident.
- New port facilities were constructed on JVD
- New roads were cut, graded and paved on JVD.
- New school building is being constructed on JVD.
- The second district as like all districts were feed and taken care of during the lock downs of covid.
- He received three hundred thousand dollars extra to assist second district residents and businesses with the issues being experienced with covid.
- Let us not forget his quarter of a million-dollar restroom at Brewer's Bay.
I will stop there for now, but I must say that although I do not fully support the VIP Government, Mitch cannot say with a right mind the second district was punished. He is trying to play with the people's mind for votes.
