Update: Police Name Tourist In Fatal Boating Accident

(PLTM) - Police have confirmed the name of the deceased in last Thursday's fatal boating accident as Robert Owen Safford, 33, of North Carolina.

According to police, investigations into this boating accident are ongoing therefore no other information is available at this time.

Previous Article-Tourist Dies In JVD Boating Accident

A male tourist is now dead following a boating accident off Great Harbour, Jost Van Dyke (JVD).

Police confirmed that the lone boating accident took place just before midnight last night.

"The one male occupant was found unresponsive in the waters with injuries to the head while the dinghy he was in was met circling in the area," police stated.

Following attempts to resuscitate him, he was pronounced dead.

No further information is available at this time.
