BVI Had A Good Name Under NDP

(PLTM) - The BVI was respected under the former National Democratic Party (NDP) administration and this is the time to turn things around and return that party to government, according to Dr. Kedrick Pickering.

Dr. Pickering, former Deputy Premier recently said that the BVI brand took a major hit when former Premier and leader of the Virgin Islands Party (VIP) Andrew Fahie was arrested in Miami.

"This country was respected far and wide. The BVI was a brand that we could have been proud of. Our brand has taken a hit after the 28th of April [2022]. A lot of us were willing to hang our heads. According to what the old people dem does say, 'hang our head in shame'," he said at a recent campaign event.

Dr. Pickering, who is contesting under the NDP as an At-Large candidate added, "But we have the opportunity right now to turn it around. I am back and I am going to fight for the National Democratic Party to get back in government because we did good work for this country and this country was going places and look where we are right now…we have the opportunity on the 24 April to turn that around."

Dr. Pickering who served as the Seventh District Representative for many years, failed at the 2019 polls when he left the NDP and ran as an Independent candidate.

"I am begging you for your vote. I don’t care whether you are VIP, NDP, PVIM, I don’t care who you is, I know every one of you and you know me. I am begging every single person registered in the Seventh District for your vote," he pleaded.

Pickering said: "give me your vote and I am going back to the House of Assembly and do what needs to be done to turn this country around because we had a good name under the National Democratic Party."

20 years in the HOA and you didn’t do what needed to be done!!! Now you want another 4 years? Can you point to one single accomplishment in your 20 years? Brandywine Bay still a mess. Not a single pea was frown in the aquaponics farms. Farmers still catching he’ll. Fisherfolk now can’t fish on any boat they can find. Anegadians still can’t get their lands. Got more sharks in the water now than ever before. Rich friends behaving like they own the place. The 7th district sewerage still running in the streets. The roads in your district have no improvement. No upgrades to the schools in your district. No major fishing tournaments since the ESPN one 20 years ago! Labour department still rated the worst department in govt. ok the stickett fixed up but now a killing ground. The lil park fixed up but now a car wash and weed selling area. What have you accomplished in your district or in your ministry in 20 years? We don’t want to hear about handouts to seniors and less fortunate.

NDP corruption wall at high school/missing planes

Now come on Picko. BVI had a great name under NDP? Really. I guess that's why you left the party last election. I guess you don't think the NDP giving away $7.2 million for planes that never fly was good for the BVI reputation. I guess you now support your fake friend Myron's corruption wall around the high school that he is being charged for. I guess you believe that wall was and is great country branding for the BVI since you now back with the party and have said nothing about it publicly. This is the problem with you politicians. You want to overlook wrong and corruption based on who do it. And you don't want to acknowledge your party own wrongdoing. Pickering if you are serious about the BVI reputation speak up about that corruption wall and them planes that never fly. Don't be silent just because your party responsible for it and you want people to think NDP better than the other three. We don't want hypocrite politicians this time around. Cuban stop trying to present yourself as some savior that going to rescue us from the UK. You could not even rescue 7 district from sewerage after NDP transfer the sewerage money for East End/Long Look to the pier park development. Let's be real this election okay.
