(PLTM) - The House of Assembly has been dissolved paving the way for the next general elections.
In a Proclamation issued under the hand of the Governor John Rankin stated that the House of Assembly be dissolved on Friday March 10, 2023. The Proclamation was published in the Gazette today Saturday March 11.
"Now Therefore, I John Rankin CMG, Governor of the Virgin Islands, by virtue and in exercise of the powers vested in me and in accordance with section 84(2) of the Virgin Islands Constitution Order 2007, U.K.S.I. 2007 No. 1678, do hereby proclaim that the House of Assembly shall be dissolved on the 10th day of March, 2023," the Proclamation said.
This was following consultation with the Premier Hon. Dr. Natalio Wheatley, who is now set to announce a date for general elections.
