Truck Downs Utility Pole
(PLTM) - Crews from the BVI Electricity Corporation (BVIEC) were dispatched to the Little Bay area in eastern Tortola after a cement truck became entangled with utility lines and downed a pole in the area.
The incident occurred today, February 22. There were no immediate reports of injuries.

And 7 hours later we're still without electricity. How long does it take a competent electricity provider to repair a downed pole?

I'll defend BVI EC all day on their incident response. I think they deserve it. They show up. They get things fixed. They find the required materials (a new 45 ft pole in this instance). They do so after mega storms or more minor accidents. They do so late at night or on holidays.
Power was back at 7.30p, around 10 hours after the concrete truck hit, and after allowing Digicel and Flow to safely restore their lines. Thanks crew.
