Governor Congratulates Lynette Harrigan On MBE Recognition

(PLTM) - Governor John Rankin has congratulated Lynette Harrigan who has been recognised by HM The King in the New Year’s Honours List.

Lynette has received an MBE for her contributions to International Travel during the COVID pandemic and to the community in the British Virgin Islands.

“Lynette is a great representative for the BVI. Over the last two decades, she has repeatedly gone above and beyond in her work for the BVI tourist board. She strove tirelessly throughout the pandemic to support travel, which was appreciated by both the industry and tourists," Governor Rankin said. He added, "This award rightfully recognises her outstanding achievements for tourism in the BVI, particularly through COVID, as well as her contribution to the wider community.”

The British Honours system recognises people who have made achievements in public life and/or committed themselves to serving and helping the United Kingdom, the Overseas Territories and UK interests abroad.

Not an easy Road.

She is a living and true example of a service warrior, been through the wars, being battered and bruised, she failed, she learnt, she got pushed down, yet she kept the faith, Never gotten wary in doing good and accomplishing her mission..Service is her calling, She did it well for the BVI. . Now she has cross the finish line victoriously.. God is good..Let other's learn that whenever you are good at what you do, you are going to get fight, mostly from inside, from those who call you family, from those who call you friend. Pls, Use Ms. Harrigan as an example. Stay focus, don't give up, don't give in..God will send that one Angel, it can be one of your many bosses, or one of your co - worker who is courageous and jus and will stand by you and for you inspite of and you will never lose. Just takes one Angel..

I can't think of a better person to receive this. She was tireless and an angel for those trying to travel to the BVI in 2021.

Always a hard worker. Remember working with you at RTW when you were leading the Mkt team, you always seek ideas, you always seek to include other staff, seeking suggestions, you never wanted to be a hero, or a star, you never show signs of insecurity, you were focus on getting positive results, getting the Job done and credit all involved. I remember sitting down with you and your ability to listen & reason. Left a lasting positive impression. "You always get the Job done and produce positive results". Those are the memories of you that always stayed with me.. I am not surprise...Congrats, well deserved.
