(PLTM) - The Cabinet of the Virgin Islands has approved the payment of honoraria to persons who worked substantially outside of their normal hours and areas of work for an extended period in response to the COVID-19 pandemic in the Territory.
According to a Cabinet brief of the December 9, 2022, meeting, the COVID-19 related payment in the amount of $219,192.71 covers the period 24th February 2020 to 31st December 2021.
Additionally, select staff from the Ministry of Finance have also been approved for an honorarium payment for their exceptional performance, dedication, and a significant amount of overtime service provided throughout the years, and especially during the annual Budget period in the amount of $68,188.58.
There was no indication as to when the payments would be made.

Minister Kindly dont forget the workers at the Adina Donovan Home. These worker took care of residents who we're stricken with the Covid virus during the pandemic. These workers was put on 12hr shifts due to the shortage of healthcare worker after some fell prey to the virus. Reliable source said. These Healthcare workers we're not recognized for great task they have done...not to mention working though past floods and hurricanes where there were less hands on deck. Furthermore, reliable sources said their we're no 25.00 certificate voucher given to them this year....and no Christmas party, ham nor turkey..
