(PLTM) - The BVI Airports Authority has informed the travelling public that the Territory’s Airports, including the Auguste George International Airport in Anegada, the Taddy Bay International Airport in Virgin Gorda, and the Terrance B. Lettsome International Airport on Beef Island will be closed today, 16th September 2022, as a result of the passage of Tropical Storm Fiona.
The press release noted that “Both the Auguste George and Taddy Bay Airports will close at sunset, and the Terrance B. Lettsome International Airport will close at 7:00pm local time.”
The BVI Ports Authority is therefore urging all employees and stakeholders to ensure that their offices, property, and equipment are safely secured by the end of the work day.
“Once the “All Clear” has been given an assessment will be undertaken on all the facilities of each airport to make sure they are operationally safe, and a further press release issued to announce their openings,” the press statement stated.
