(PLTM) - Premier and Minister of Finance, Hon. Andrew A. Fahie will be absent from the Territory between April 25 and May 5.
The Premier, along with other official delegates will attend the annual Sea Trade summit which is the largest global cruise summit, which is held annually in Miami, Florida.
The summit offers the opportunity for destinations, ports, cruise lines, and members of the cruise community to build alliances, strengthen partnerships with stakeholders, and engage with experts in the field.
“We intend to see if we can increase the number of calls coming and the season in which they will come. There is the slow season and so we are trying to increase ships during that time We are trying to see if we increase calls during the slow season and to expand our services so that taxi operators can make more revenue to be able to support themselves, as well as all of the businesses like shopkeepers and craftsmen,” Hon. Fahie told a press conferece on Friday, April 25.
He is hoping to that attending the conference with industry partners, will assit in achieving this goal.
In Hon. Fahie’s absence, Deputy Premier and Minister for Education, Culture, Youth Affairs, Fisheries and Agriculture, Dr. Natalio Wheatley will act as Premier.
