(PLTM) - Kittitian native, Andraes Norford has been found guilty by a nine-member jury for the 2013 murder of Melbourne Francis which occurred near the Stickette in Long Look.

Following a roughly one month-long trial at the High Court, the jury returned with the verdict late Tuesday, November 30.

He will be sentenced on February 22, 2022.

Norford is also charged with the murder of Julio Pineda Ceasar which occurred after he allegedly escaped from Her Majesty’s Prison following the 2017 hurricanes that damaged the prison’s perimeter fence.

He was also named among the inmates charged with the recent fatal stabbing of fellow inmate Nichail Chambers.

More On The Case

Notably, two other men – Kavarne Richards and the late Jefferson Joseph – were initially charged with Francis’ murder.

However, the court upheld Richards’ no-case submission on July 16 2015 and he walked away a free man.

His co-accused, the late Joseph, allegedly paid Norford $13,000 to kill Francis who was at the time in the midst of others at the Stickette when he was shot multiple times at close range.

The probe revealed that the gunman then ran off in the direction of Little Dix Hill.

Following the murder, Norford allegedly fled from the territory to St. Kitts and had to be extradited back to answer to the charge.

In 2017 Joseph was gunned down near the CSY Dock in Baughers Bay.
