(PLTM) - The Royal Virgin Islands Police Force (RVIPF) recently charged another female in connection to the recent robbery and murder in Paraquita Bay, Tortola.

A statement from the Police Information Office issued today, May 3, stated that the RVIPF’s Major Crime Team charged Teffiny Smith, 18, of Zion Hill for aiding offenders.

She joins Tyann Smith, 20, of Freshwater Pond, who was previously charged for the same offence.

“The two was granted bail until their appearances before the Magistrate’s Court on May 6,” the statement said.

This latest arrest of Smith now brings the total persons charged with the incident, which claimed the life of Catherine Pickering on April 18 under the age of 30, to five.

Just last week, Akeem Hopkinson, 22, and Shameek Grant, 28, both of Zion Hill, were charged with murder, possession of a firearm with intent to endanger life and jointly charged with Shermar Richardson24, of Gene Hill, for robbery in the same incident.

The trio had appeared before the magistrate’s court, and the matter of bail was not raised.

They are all on remand at the state penitentiary in Balsam Ghut awaiting their trial.

The RVIPF reportedly linked the all except Richardson with surveillance footage from the home that Hopkinson and Grant shared in Zion Hill, West End.
