(PLTM) - The British Virgin Islands has no active cases of the Novel Coronavirus Disease (COVID-19) to date.

Minister for Health and Social Development Hon. Carvin Malone made the pronouncement while being interviewed on the Honestly Speaking Radio Programme with Host Claude Skelton Cline on Thursday, February 18 2021.

“This is hot off the press; the Chief Medical Officer has advised me of the 153 positives that we have had, all 153 have now recovered, so currently there are zero active cases in the Virgin Islands,” Malone said.

As of the last update issued on February 14, the territory had 21,966 samples from 21,846 persons tested at the Dr. D. Orlando Smith Hospital Laboratory.

At the time, the two active cases were on Tortola.
