(PLTM) - Junior Minister for Trade and Economic Development and Territorial At Large Representative Hon. Shereen Flax-Charles has revealed that even as elected officials in the British Virgin Islands, they are not immune to the impacts of the ongoing pandemic.

Hon. Flax-Charles revealed while speaking on VIP Radio on Tuesday, February 16, 2021, that, “It’s been tough, it’s been really difficult.”

She continued: “I will say to the general public of the BVI that we understand, that every one of us in this room is a business person and we too are feeling the crunch, but we have put aside whatever challenges we have personally to make sure that BVI businesses are taking care of.”

The Junior Minister then called on residents to seek help if they are in need.

“So the stimulus is something that we worked on, and we continue to work on, and we want to say to you, don’t lose faith; we are here to work with you. We are a government of the people. You can count on us; we are here to work with you, reach out to us, we are here to help you in any way that we can,” she remarked.

The Coronavirus Disease pandemic has been severely affecting the health and economic sphere globally.
