Cops Seize Vessel, Drugs; Rental Car Driver Eludes Capture

(PLTM) - Cops have reportedly made another fairly large seizure of drug, including cocaine and cannabis.

Police stated that duri​ng an operation in the early hours of Tuesday, January 19, members of the Royal Virgin Islands Police Force (RVIPF) seized a quality of suspected cocaine in a rental vehicle intercepted in the Hodge’s Creek area.

According to police, the driver of the vehicle made his escape.

"A total five bales, weighing in excess of 150 kilos, was recovered in the vehicle," according to police.

It was reported that a vessel connected to the drug seizure was also located in the Brandy Wine area and seized by officers.

A search of another vehicle during the investigations uncovered another four kilos of cannabis. One person has been arrested on suspicion in connection with the drugs found in this vehicle.

"The investigation remains live and ongoing and therefore no other information can be released at this time," police stated.
