(PLTM) - After a less than spectacular performance at the World Championship in Doha last week, BVI top female athlete, Chantel Malone has her eyes set on bringing home an Olympic medal for the Territory at the Tokyo games next summer.

In a post competition interview with the BVI Athletics Association, Malone, who got 6:45 on jump number three, said that she was not satisfied with her performance.

“I was down yesterday, I’m still a little. I don’t like to lose and I don’t like to not perform in the way that I know that I am capable of performing, so it is a hard blow.”

However, the athlete disclosed plans to excel on the Olympic field.

In what can be described as a preliminary outline of her 2020 plan, Malone said, “For me the upcoming season we’re just going to work on being consistent with the jumps and with the runways; and just be able to hit what I need to hit.”

Malone noted that she has her eyes on a medal and will be working hard to get it.

“I’m coming for everything, simple. I always bounce back. That’s something that I pride myself on—being resilient. I am going to go back, train like I’ve never trained before, work hard, eat salad, eat like a rabbit.”

“Imma come back hard and I know Tokyo 2020 is going to be something special for me,” she added.
