Man Charged For Attempted Murder

(PLTM) - According to a release from the Police Information Office, issued today, Monday, July 15, Detectives of the Criminal Investigations Department have today charged one man for attempted murder.

Callique Collins, 25 of Greenland was charged with the attempted murder of Dillon Quammie, 21 of Paraquita Bay.

According to Police, on Tuesday, July 9, Police responded to a report of a stabbing, as a result of a physical altercation at the Spanish Bar in Fat Hog’s Bay.

The release noted that Quammie was transported to the Dr. D. Orlando Smith Hospital where he underwent emergency surgery for a stab wound to his abdomen and was later placed in ICU.

Commissioner of Police Michael Matthews stated that allegations concerning acts of mindless violence can expect to be dealt with by the full force of the law.

“Any persons who allegedly arm themselves with any form of weapon to commit an offence only place themselves and others at risk and will face the consequences of their actions through the laws of the Territory.”

Police are continuing investigations in this matter.
