The application made by Mark Vanterpool, seeking leave for a judicial review of Speaker Hon. Julian Willock’s decision not to swear him in as the Representative of the Fourth District, has been dismissed by Justice Ann Marie Smith.

In her ruling today, April 13, Justice Smith stated that the court does not generally intervene in the operations of the legislature, and could not entertain the application in its form.

The hearing on the other application, requesting that the court makes a declaration that Vanterpool has not vacated his seat and did not resign, will proceed and continues today.
