(PLTM) - This Saturday, August 11 at the Eileen Parsons Auditorium, three talented young women will be vying for the title of Miss World BVI, and the chance to represent the Territory in Sanya, China.

Finalist number one, Yadali Thomas-Santos is sponsored by Mi Amor and will be showing how from 2015 to present she has been working on initiatives geared at youth development. Finalist number two, Anika Christopher, who is sponsored by Wild Time Travel Excursions, will be showing how she is planning to rollout a book program and her interest in the global fight to promote literacy. Finalist number three, Aaliyah Inniss, who is sponsored by Land BVI and is purposed on being a voice against child sexual abuse, will share her plans to help young persons that were affected.

Two segments of the competition already took place--the Fitness Challenge on August 4 and the Interview and Platform Presentation was held on August 8.

The Miss World BVI Committee explained that the August 8 event took the form of a formal dinner where sponsors and chaperones of the finalists were invited to observe as the finalists went through three judged rounds.

During that event, six judges observed the young women’s personality, interests, social graces, and were able to prompt each finalist to defend and present the plans for their platform in a setting that was not guided by the clock. The aim of the segment was to determine which of the three is the best ambassador.

On Saturday during the grand show, the finalists will be competing in the categories of talent, evening wear and cultural wear. They will be scored on the public’s response to their Beauty With a Purpose platform, and will face off in a question and answer segment aimed at deciphering intellect.
