(PLTM) - As the BVI prepares for the impact of Hurricane Irma, Opposition Leader, Hon. Andrew Fahie is sending out a message of strength, which he said is in the DNA of the people of the Virgin Islands.

"I take this time to encourage all my people of the Virgin Islands to prepare as much as possible from the effects of the pending Hurricane Irma," he said.

"Let us stay prayed up; we are in this together. As people of the Virgin Islands, resilience is in our DNA."

Hon. Fahie urged residents to be prepared.

"Please do all that you can to prepare. The rest is in God's hands and his will will be done, and when it is, we must accept it and reply on him and him alone to guide and provide for us in the rebuilding of the Virgin Islands."

He said, "Together we will be stronger than ever."
