(PLTM) - A fourth man from Main Street, Tortola, has been charged in relation to drug and gun bust following investigations into the Long Bush robbery. Prince Bambury was charged with ‘Keeping a firearm without a license’, ‘Unlawful Possession of Explosives’ and ‘Unlawful Possession of a Controlled Drug with Intent to Supply’.
The other three men, Kawa Cornwall 36, Samuel Harris 29 and Rean-J Christopher 21 were jointly charged with two counts of ‘Robbery’, ‘Keeping a Firearm without a License’, ‘Unlawful Possession of Explosives’ and ‘Unlawful Possession of a Controlled Drug with Intent to Supply’.
Court Appearance
The quartet appeared before the Magistrate’s Court on Wednesday, September 16, 2020. The complaints were just read for their information, which means they were not required to enter a plea.
Christopher’s bail was set at $90,000. His bail was broken down into two. For the offence of robbery, he was granted bail in the sum of $50,000, and for the other offences, he was granted a total of $40,000 with one signed surety.
The other men were granted bail in the sum of $40,000 with one signed surety.
As part of their bail conditions, the men have to surrender all travel documents, and report to the Road Town Police Station between 6 am and 5 pm on Saturdays and Tuesdays.
They are to return to court on November 12, 2020.
Magistrate Christilyn Benjamin presided over the matter, and Crown Counsel Oneil Simpson was the prosecutor.
The men were charged following a police report of the robbery at the Ogan Barbershop in Long Bush on August 10 at 10.45 am. A search warrant was executed on a Main Street residence where a loaded firearm with a quantity of drugs was recovered.
