Curfew Moves To 5 P.M; Salons, Barbershops To Reopen

(PLTM) - The Cabinet of the Virgin Islands has advised the National Security Council to impose a new restricted 14-day curfew from 5 p.m to 5 a.m daily starting from September 16 to 29.

According to Government, all businesses will be allowed to operate under the Curfew Act 2017, Imposition of a Curfew (No. 32) Order 2020 with the exception of daycare centres, pre-schools, public pools, cinemas, bars, night clubs and other entertainment services.

Additionally, spas, salons, hairdressers and barbershops are now allowed to operate.

"Business owners are reminded that their operations are subject to inspections and certification by the Social Distancing Monitoring Task Force and the Environmental Health Division and that failure to comply will result in fines and penalties," the Government warned.

Minister for Health and Social Development, Hon. Carvin Malone will provide an official COVID-19 update on Wednesday, September 16 at 10 a.m.
