(PLTM) - Works are expected to start this week on the roads in the Seventh District.
Hon. Kye Rymer, Minister for Transport, Works and Utilities gave this assurance to the residents in the district last Friday, August, 7. He said that Emancipation celebrations pushed back the works.
“Next week you will see the roads getting paved and we will ensure we have a smooth drive throughout the eastern area. The Minister said some speed bumps as well. So, whatever he wants I will make sure I assist and make sure he gets,” Hon. Rymer stated.
He also mentioned the restarting of the sewerage project and urged contractors to be ready when that project is ready to start.
“I told the residents in the area make sure you have your good standings ready, make sure you have your trade licenses ready because we have a lot of work coming in the seventh district. We are going to make sure that the sewerage issues are no longer within a short time,” he said.
“People of the seventh district the sewerage issue that should be a thing of the past,” the Minister emphasized.
The Government has assigned some $4M towards the restarting of the sewerage project in East End.
