(PLTM) - With immediate effect, Sharon Flax-Brutus has been removed from the post of Tourism Director of the BVI Tourist Board (BVITB).
The decision took effect at 3 p.m today, May 20 and comes just days after Flax-Brutus tendered her resignation from the Board effective November, 2020.
"The British Virgin Islands Tourist Board wishes to advise the public that as of 3 p.m. today, May 20, 2020 Mrs Sharon Flax-Brutus is no longer the Territory's Director of Tourism," a statement from the Board indicated.
Further, the statement added, "Mrs. Flax-Brutus submitted her resignation to the Board on Friday, 15 May, 2020 to become effective 15 November, 2020. Her resignation which was accepted by the Board of Directors, also thanked her for her service to the BVITB."
Earlier this year, Mr. Rhodni Skelton, Deputy Director of the British Virgin Islands Tourist Board and Film Commission (BVITB&FC), was appointed to act as Director of Tourism Flax Brutus went on vacation leave. The Board has not indicated who will fill the role of Director of Tourism.
