(PLTM) - Detectives of The RVIPF Major Crime Team at 11:20 am today, January 15, charged one man for murder for a 2017 murder.

Andraes Norford, a 28 year old native of St. Kitts, who was on remand at Her Majesty’s Prison for the 2013 murder of Melbourne Francis, was charged with the 2017 murder of Julio Pineda Ceasar of Greenland.

He was shot at his home on the evening of September 10, 2017 and subsequently died of his injuries on September 12 at the then Peebles Hospital. Initially, one male was arrested and interviewed in relation to the murder; however, he was released pending further investigations.

Commissioner of Police, Michael Matthews, stated “We continue to pursue investigations into historic homicides in the Territory. This particular matter happened in the immediate aftermath of Hurricane Irma making the investigation more challenging and complex. The investigation has now concluded with the charging of Mr Norford. My thoughts remain with the family and friends of Mr Ceasar.”
