L-R: Public Relations Officer for the BVI Cricket Association, Daniel Singh is presented with a check by FLOW Acting Country Manager, Ravindra Maywahlall, towards the Hononourable Ralph T. ONeal T20 Tournament.

(PLTM) - FLOW has partnered with the British Virgin Islands Cricket Association (BVICA) in the 2019 Honourable Ralph T. O’Neal T20 Tournament.

In presenting the check to BVICA Public Relations Officer Daniel Singh, on May 10, Acting Country Manager, Ravindra Maywahlall stated, “FLOW has always been a strong supporter of cricket in the Territory. We understand that private sector partnerships are key to the success of these types of community events, and we are pleased that we able to continue our partnership with the BVICA.”

He added, “Life is about moments, and we believe that the Honourable Ralph T. O’Neal T20 Tournament provides a wholesome and safe community environment where families and friends can attend and celebrate winning moments with their favourite teams.”

Maywahlall also noted that this year’s cricket tournament is especially significant as it honours BVI icon, former Premier and Member Emeritus of the House of Assembly, Honourable Ralph T. O’Neal, OBE and his many contributions to the growth of the sport in the Territory.

President of the BVI Cricket Association Mr Vajendra Bharat said he was more than gracious for the continued efforts and sponsorship of FLOW BVI for cricket in the Territory.

He explained that the BVICA started the plans for the tournament with nothing in the bank. “So we were simply ecstatic when FLOW said yes to our request, as this will help to offset the costs for running the four-month long series of matches,” he noted.

Bharat added, “Knowing that FLOW has contributed over the years, I was pleased when Mr. Maywahlall said the company would contribute again this year.” In his recognition of FLOW’s sponsorship, the BVICA President also expressed gratitude to NAGICO as the title sponsor of the tournament.

The tournament began on April 7, 2019 with eight teams: Vincy CC, Royal Knights, Riteway, Vikings, Grenada CC, Cavaliers, Police and VG Spartans. It is currently underway and will be played on a round robin format, after which four teams will advance to a play off before the third place and final scheduled for July 21, 2019.

There will be two matches played on Sundays at the Greenland Recreation Field, starting at 9:30 a.m. and at 1:30 p.m.
