(PLTM) - The BVI’s Jaleel Croal says winning a gold medal for the BVI in the 2019 Carifta games feels "amazing."
“It feels very amazing,” Croal said in a video shortly after he struck gold during the recently concluded Carifta Games, making him the Territory’s first Under 17 Boys 200 metre gold medalist at the Carifta Games.
According to reports emanating from the BVI Athletics Association (BVIAA), on Sunday, April 21, the youngster came in first with a timing of 21.43 seconds outrunning Jamaicans Christopher Scott and Richard Nelson who came in second and third respectively.
He also walked away with a bronze medal in the under 17 boys 100 metre race.
However, that was not the only win for the BVI at the games. The BVIAA reports that the Territory secured a total of seven medal at the Games—three silver and three bronze medals in addition to Croal’s gold medal.
