(PLTM) - While leader of the new Progressive Virgin Islands Movement (PVIM), Hon. Ronnie Skelton announced that former Minister, Dancia Penn-Sallah, QC is expected to join his party’s slate of candidates as a Territorial At Large candidate, she has refuted this, saying that she has not yet made a decision on this front.

The former Minister of Health under the Virgin Islands Party (VIP) in a statement yesterday, December 10, said, “Reports that I am a candidate in the upcoming General Elections are premature.”

She admitted that she has been courted by several parties to throw her hat in the electoral ring once again, saying, “I have been approached by many groups and individuals, and have been invited by several political parties, including the Progressive Virgin Islands Movement (PVIM) to re-enter electoral politics.”

She went on to say that she has “a deep commitment to the Virgin Islands and our future, particularly in these unprecedented challenging times.”

The former Minister further stated, “I am grateful to the many persons who continue to encourage me to return to electoral politics, and I am giving serious and active consideration to the professional, business, personal and public implications of this critical decision and its timing.”

She divulged that she will make an announcement as it relates to her decision in the coming weeks.

Penn-Sallah served as Eighth District representative and Deputy Premier, as well as Minister of Health and Social Development up to 2011, when she lost her district seat to Hon. Marlon Penn.
