(PLTM) - The flyers are still fresh on storefront windows around Road Town, Tortola, although the case seems to have gone cold. It has been over two months since an elderly, Walter Todman was last seen decked in a green shirt and black trousers.

Family members last saw the 83-year-old man at his Todman Estate home, at about 9:00 pm on the night of Friday, September 14.

To this day, no one really knows what transpired that night and led to his disappearance.

There was some speculation that the 5’3” Alzheimer's patient had wandered off in search of his wife, who passed away weeks before.

Upon discovering him missing, residents sprung into action. The Virgin Islands Search and Rescue (VISAR) organised a search party of more than 30 people, who scoured the area high and low, by foot and using drones. Still, they came up empty-handed with no sign of the slim, bearded, old man.

After several days, the case was handed over to the police, who took over the investigation.

At this point, the family is just awaiting closure.

Todman’s sister, Altagracia Hodge, in a brief conversation with BVI Platinum News, said they are yet to receive word from the police on any development in the missing person’s case.

“It’s in their hands. We have done all that we could have. We searched,” she shared.

As of now, they are still hopeful that there may be a break in the case, as according to Hodge, “We’re just waiting…just waiting to hear from the police.”

Meanwhile, over at the Royal Virgin Islands Police Force, the case remains open. The last ground search was conducted last month, October 12.

Upon inquiry, Police Public Relations Officer, Diane Drayton shared that they “have searched all areas where Mr. Todman would likely be found.”

“Investigators are still open to conducting additional searches in other areas where credible information suggests that Mr. Todman may be found.”
