(PLTM) - Ogier has supported community partner Joyce Samuel Primary School with donations towards a new photocopier and servicing contract as the school continues to rebuild after the devastation of Hurricane Irma. The firm has teamed up with Deloitte to support the purchase of the new photocopier, servicing contract and associated supplies, after the school lost its photocopier during the hurricane. Ogier has previously donated more than US$20,000 towards repairs to the school's roof that allowed it to reopen in November – the support is part of an eight-year relationship between the law firm and the primary school that has seen donations of laptops, audio visual equipment and classroom materials. Ogier's practice partner in BVI, Ray Wearmouth, said: "We're absolutely committed to helping the Joyce Samuel Primary School wherever we can, and we're grateful to Deloitte for stepping in too. "The Adopt-a-School programme is a great way that firms such as ours can strengthen our links with the schools and build sustainable ties with the community. "Visiting the school and talking to the principal, Orlandette Crabbe, always brings home the difference that we can make and it's something that all of our team here in BVI get a lot out of and take very seriously." Deloitte's Partner in the BVI, Carlene Romney, said: "Due to damages to our premises caused by the catastrophic hurricanes, Ogier very kindly assisted us and other businesses in the community. As a small token of our appreciation, we are very happy to assist in Ogier's efforts to rebuild their adopted school and get them fully operational for the new school year."
