(PLTM) - Minister for Education and Culture, Hon. Myron Walwyn has expressed thanks to owner of Oil Nut Bay, Mr. David Johnson, for funding the reconstruction of the Robinson O’Neal Primary School on Virgin Gorda.

Last week, a reconstruction ceremony was held at the school, where Project Benefactor, Oil Nut Bay’s North Sound Foundation, Mr. Johnson came in for praises.

“We are making tremendous strides in the education system everyday. I must once again say thanks to Mr. David Johnson and Associates for their kindness to the Territory in our time of need,” Minister Walwyn said.

Parents, students and teachers of the school were also present at the ceremony.

The school sustained significant damage during the passage of hurricane Irma last September.

A number of large businesses have stepped up and pledged funds to rebuild schools across the Territory.

Several local companies who adopted schools have also made donations in cash and/or in kind.
