(PLTM) - A joint patrol by members of the Royal Virgin Islands Police Force, supported by Cayman Police, recovered a firearm and ammunition in East End. This resulted in Vicardo Farrell, aka Scar of Major Bay, being charged in connection with the find.

According to police, on Friday, November 3, around 10:40pm, officers recovered a 9mm Smith and Wesson pistol and eleven rounds of ammunition.

Police said that the recovery took place as they continue their efforts to ensure business places and their patrons adhere to the 11:00pm curfew.

Farrell, who was found with the gun, could not produce a valid license for carrying the said firearm.

He was then arrested and charged with carrying an unlicensed firearm and unlawful possession of explosives.

Mr. Michael Matthews, Commissioner of Police, reiterated his appeal to the public for any information.

“We don’t need your name. Just tell us who has a firearm or where it can be found. We will do the rest,” he said.

Persons with information to assist with removing illegal firearms and explosives from the streets can contact members of the Intelligence Unit at 368–9339.
