Ferry companies licensed in the British Virgin Islands are being invited to submit bids for the operation of a three-day safe and reliable service between Anegada and Tortola for two years, operating on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays.

The proposed routes for ferry operations are from Road Town, Tortola with a stop in Valley, Virgin Gorda and continuing on to Setting Point, Anegada and returning from Anegada to Tortola via Valley, Virgin Gorda on Mondays and Fridays only. Mr. Oneal please, it is time to allow private enterprise to do what it can do best. All is necessary is for you to set safety standards for passenger vessels operating on the route.and let the ferry services do their own thing. No one is calling you to finance the Virgin Gorda service or the BVI/USVI service. The anegada service has now been established, the fledgling can now fly, release it, free yourself of any financial obligation to these operators. Smith's ferry service has demonstated that they do not need Government's support, so please make your exit.
