Top Priority Security Services has partnered with National CSI and the Virgin Islands Anti-Gang Committee to provide School Security Officers' Training and Certification to Top Priority Security staff, law enforcement personnel, school administrative staff and teachers. The sessions will be held between March 25 and 29.
Lesmore Smith, CEO of Top Priority Security Services said he is not only committed to providing a safe learning environment for children, but is also committed to ensuring that his staff has the tools, training and certification needed to execute their job.
Mr. Smith recently attended a week's training that led to certification as a School Resource Officer on an Executive Level.
Mr. Smith saw first-hand collaboration and commitment of all stakeholders working together for the betterment of the children and the community that they serve.
The training was provided by the National CSI CEO and Asbury School District Security Director, L. Louis Jordan.
Mr. Jordan is a retired New Jersey Police Director and Gang Expert who has trained over 1,100 Government Officials, Senators, Commissioners, Police Officers, law enforcement personnel, school officers, community leaders, school administrative staff and teachers in the United States Virgin Islands during their annual Anti-Gang Conference and Caribbean Gang Conference.
The participants will receive training on the roles and responsibilities of school security officers and local law enforcement, laws and liability, security awareness in the educational environment, security protection and professionalism, school violence, conducting interviews, burglary and robbery prevention, bias crime prevention and intervention, school violence prevention and intervention, preventing weapons on campus, bullying, gang prevention, intervention, suppression, assessment and graffiti, teacher and staff safety, mediation/conflict resolution, dynamics of student behavior, disasters and emergencies, community collaboration and mobilization, and executive protection.
Upon completion of the training, participants will receive certification as a Security Resource Officer from National CSI.
