The BVI Cycling Federation (BVICF) is gearing up to the start of the 2013 cycling season with its opening road race, the BVI Cycling Federation Classic.
The 30-mile race will start and finish at the West End Police Station. The cyclists will start and first head west until they reach the Frenchman´s Cay junction where they will turn and head East on the main road all the way to the H. Lavity Stoutt Community College (HLSCC).
According to the BVICF, riders will turn onto the college road going around the roundabout and on reaching the main road again travelling west to the start/finish line.
The race is open to all classes - A Class, B Class, Women and Juniors. According to the BVICF, fun/novice cyclists are welcomed and they will do the same route, but will turn at the Prospect Reef roundabout and head back to the finish at West End.
There will be no water stop at the HLSCC. Registration will be on the day of the event at the Start/Finish line and will commence at 6.30am with the race starting at 7:00 am. The entry fee for members is $10 and for non-members $20. Membership application forms will be available at the event.

"We are kindly asking the motoring public to be aware of the cyclists on the road taking part in the race and ask that they are especially careful both when approaching and passing all competitors," said Darel Christopher, President of the BVICF.
