A female passenger is currently receiving treatment at Peebles Hospital after the driver of the vehicle she was travelling in careened off the road and slammed into the BVI Electricity Corporation (BVIEC) transformer adjacent to Colombian Emeralds along Waterfront Drive.
BVI Platinum News understands that the woman suffered shoulder injuries and bruises about her body.
BVI Platinum News also understands that the incident occurred at about 5:00 am on July 1 and the occupants of the vehicle were coming from the area of Duff's Bottom after attending a Jamaican party.
Information suggests that the driver has since told Police Officers that he lost control of the vehicle, which led to the accident.

The vehicle, a Toyota Corolla damaged parts of the steel structure mounted to protect the transformer.
The transformer, which was damaged in a prior accident and had to be replaced, is said to be intact.
The driver is assisting Police with the investigations.
