Female Passenger Injured In Waterfront Drive Accident

A female passenger is currently receiving treatment at Peebles Hospital after the driver of the vehicle she was travelling in careened off the road and slammed into the BVI Electricity Corporation (BVIEC) transformer adjacent to Colombian Emeralds along Waterfront Drive.

BVI Platinum News understands that the woman suffered shoulder injuries and bruises about her body.

BVI Platinum News also understands that the incident occurred at about 5:00 am on July 1 and the occupants of the vehicle were coming from the area of Duff's Bottom after attending a Jamaican party.

Information suggests that the driver has since told Police Officers that he lost control of the vehicle, which led to the accident.

The vehicle, a Toyota Corolla damaged parts of the steel structure mounted to protect the transformer.

The transformer, which was damaged in a prior accident and had to be replaced, is said to be intact.

The driver is assisting Police with the investigations.

Stop being so stupid!!! Everything that happen to "down island" people you have to send them home? I'm a virgin islander and its sickening to see other people from here being so ignorant. Everything is "send them home!!! " send them home for what??? Stop the ignorance!!!!!!!

It is time government make these drivers who damage property pay for it.Only then will they drive slowly .Hope the police took driver for a test of his alcohol levels.

Funny how they stated that the transformer is still intact but havent stated the real reason why the driver lost control of his car in an open road, no traffic. Silly much?

This is a load of Wash. I am tired seeing people mash up the threes, street light walls, in this place i don't know what it is . Is it that folks cant drive? Will full? Careless? Or downright Just Stupid. They should be Fined and Charged . I can understand people do get in accidents but not... more

WHY are our police not equipped with the basic tools required for investigations. Field test breathalyzers, field drug test kits,digital cameras to document accident and crime scenes ? How much longer must we wait ?

I have seen police take pics using digital cameras at accident scenes. However breathalyzer and field drug tests are NOT IN THE LAW so that is a issue that needs to be addressed with the LAW MAKERS not the POLICE !!!!!!!!!!!
