BVI Celebrates Arrival Of AA's Inaugural Direct Flight From U.S Mainland
(PLTM) - Flight AAL3989 arrived at the Terrance B. Lettsome International Airport shortly after 1:15 pm today June 1 to a wave of welcoming residents.
The flight, which is the first commercial trip for American Airlines between Miami and the BVI, marks a turning point for the Territory which had tried for several years to connect passengers between BVI and the U.S mainland.
Some 79 passengers were onboard including Premier and Minister of Finance, Hon. Dr. Natalio Wheatley and Minister of Communications and Works, Hon. Kye Rymer.
The aircraft received the water salute from the BVI Fire and Rescue team at the airport.
An official ceremony is underway and updates will be provided on this developing historic story.

Why are they saying this is the first commercial flight from Miami. Have you forgotten when Chief Minister Cyril Romney brought in that same flight with a different plane. People you are saying that we have a shallow memory.
