(PLTM) - Chairman of the Virgin Islands Party (VIP), Hon. Andrew Fahie is condemning recent attacks on the wife of his political opponent, Chairman of the National Democratic Party (NDP), Hon. Myron Walwyn.
In a press statement yesterday, February 15, Hon. Fahie said, “I have, today, become aware of a malicious and hurtful text being sent around via WhatsApp that targets the wife of Mr. Myron V. Walwyn.”
“I categorically denounce this kind of attack on Mrs. Judith Walwyn,” he stated.
According to Hon. Fahie, family members should not be subjected to these sorts of attacks in this political season.
“We in the political arena can agree to disagree, but family members are off limits. I know firsthand how hurtful it can be to a family member on the receiving end, as my wife has suffered also at the hands of unnamed, unknown persons who hide in the shadows and malign individuals,” he stated.
With a message of “enough is enough,” the VIP Chairman reiterated, “I can say here and now, family members are off limits and have no place in the political discourse.”
He therefore urged those in the political arena to conduct themselves accordingly.
“Let us stick to the issues and solutions. Let us conduct ourselves with respect. This type of disrespectful conduct has no place in our politics,” he declared.
